Parliament to do the job that they were

Not that this particular statement requires a source, since this phrase as often been used SO MANY TIMES by the government from the start.

the hindu - letters to the editor
"But I don't subscribe
to the method adopted by civil society members who seek to dictate terms to
parliamentarians. Does an individual
have a right to interfere in legislation?
Why are our television news channels
running behind Team Anna and
making people feel this is the way a system should be governed? Manisha Pralhad Dandge, Pune"

How long would you like to continue this debate? The lokpal bill has been presented and passed by the lok sabha only to get put down by the rajya sabha for decades now.

Those people who get elected may have the backing of the voters up until they get voted. But once they are seated and comfy, their priorities change.

And the people are well aware, but behave like it is an unfortunate fact of life and just accept it or make grand self righteous remarks over it like the statement in the hindu "letters to the editor" above.

Do generations need to live and die over such discussions? What are We? Tree shepards from the lord of the rings?

Don't we need deadlines? Isn't pressure inevitable? Isn't it necessary?

My maternal relatives here in kerala have little or no idea of Anna Hazare, his team, or their purpose. That is where the media's role comes in. I can't understand why this person made such a comment.

This is a landmark bill in India's fight against corruption. Just like the RTI, only greater.
